While reading the news might lead one to think that the real estate market is in a state of paralysis that is not so in our area.  In terms of number of sales, while some towns are slightly ahead of last year and others are slightly behind, the two years are quite close.  In terms of sales prices, there also is variability between towns and in most a tendency towards average prices being lower this year than last.  The fact is that homes continue to be bought and sold and  the local real estate market has stabilized.
